Holger Bengs holds a doctorate in polymer chemistry (Hannover, Mainz) and a degree in business administration (Hagen). His clients benefit from his scientific and technical understanding, his marketing and sales knowledge as well as his profound networks.

He founded BCNP Consultants GmbH with its headquarters in Frankfurt and an office in Cologne in 2002. BCNP focuses with BCNP Strategy on strategic consulting (technology scouting, market analyzes, business plans) and with BCNP connect on sales support. Previously, he spent seven years as project manager at Hoechst and Aventis and two years as managing director at GoingPublic Media AG. He developed e.g. Drug Delivery Systems and was responsible for a project of Industrial Biotechnology (NEO-Amylose). As co-editor, he launched the life science series of GoingPublic in 1999.

Holger Bengs is the initiator of European Chemistry Partnering (since 2017), a speed dating service for the chemical industry and its user industries, and publisher of Compass to Europe’s Innovative Chemical Companies (since 2015). In 2008, he initiated nationwide regular tables (“Stammtisch”) of the Association for Chemistry and Business (VCW) of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh). He is member of the GDCh since 1992 and for the GDCh and all involved chemical organizations and institutions he was 2002 / 2003 the coordinator of Germany´s Year of Chemistry 2003.

 

He sits on various advisory councils and industry-related committees, i.e. currently Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid, FCF Fox Corporate Finance, Wirtschaftsclub Rhein-Main, Vereinigung für Chemie und Wirtschaft (VCW, core team), HAPILA GmbH, Chemie Ingenieur Technik (CIT, Board of trustees), and the business plan contests Science4Life Venture Cup (expert and reviewer) and PlanB (jury member).

 

Due to his commitment to Frankfurt as a trade fair city within the framework of European Chemistry Partnering, in November 2018 he was awarded the honorary title “Frankfurt Congress Ambassador” by the city of Frankfurt am Main.

 

As CNO, Chief Networking Officer, which stands for “to be a convinced networker” he is member of several scientific, economic and political organizations, e.g. German Chemical Society (GDCh), Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), American Chemical Society (ACS), HessenChemie, Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC), Diplomatic Council (DC), European Finance Forum (EFF), BioDeutschland, Wirtschaftsclub Rhein-Main, Schweizerisch-Deutscher Wirtschaftsclub (SDWC), European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB), Cluster Industrielle Biotechnologie CLIB 2021, VBIO, DECHEMA, Mehr Demokratie und Vereinigung Deutscher Biotechnologie-Unternehmen (VBU).
